FAQ

What is a clinical herbalist?
A clinical herbalist supports clients in meeting their health goals by offering herbal and lifestyle recommendations that help the body find balance. Beginning with a full health history intake, clinical herbalists often work with clients over several months with follow up sessions happening every 3-6 weeks.
Clinical herbalists recommend herbal protocols that take into consideration a client’s constitution and these protocols often adapt and shift as their clients work towards their goals. Protocols may include herbs, supplements and diet and/or lifestyle suggestions.

Can I take herbs and medications?
It depends!
During your initial session we will talk about what medications (both over the counter and prescription) and any other supplements you are currently taking. I will make sure the herbs I recommend don’t adversely interact with your current medications.
It is important to also work with your primary healthcare provider and to inform them of any herbs or supplements you are taking. Herbs may have side effects, cause individual sensitivities, or interact with medications, and it is important to discuss this with your healthcare provider.

Who are your teachers?
I have learned a lot from plants themselves — I feel like the longer I’m working herbs the more I realize how much they have to teach me. Lemon balm, blackberry, and hawthorn are a few of my first plant teachers.
Herbalists I have studied with include Laura Ash, Erin Masako Wilkins, Shayne Case, Drea Moore, Madeleina Bolduc, Kelsey Barrett, Lisa Fox and Sarah Jane Fairless through Land of Verse’s rigorous Apprentice and Clinical Herbalist training which I completed in 2024. I completed Herbal Academy’s Intermediate Herbalist Certification in 2022.
I have also taken classes from David Winston, 7Song, Camille Freeman, Rosa Vissers, Lisa Ganora, Guido Masé, Duncan Lynch, Eric Yarnell and Christopher Hobbs. I regularly attend workshops offered through American Herbalist Guild.

Are you licensed?
Short answer, no. There is no licensure for herbalists in the United States.
I am an herbalist, not a licensed medical professional. The information provided in my consultations is intended to support your overall health and wellness and is not intended to replace medical advice or treatment.
-
Will we meet online or in person?
At the moment, all sessions will occur online. You will need a stable internet connection and a computer or phone with a working camera.
-
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, payment plans are available for the package offerings.
Payment plans must be finished by the time service is completed.
-
Where do you source the herbs?
My primary sources for herbs are my garden and a couple of local-ish herb farms including Root Digger Herb Farm (WA) and Oshala Farm (OR). I also wildcraft abundant and/or invasive species. Quality and freshness of the herbs I make teas and tinctures with is really important to me — the more potent the herb, the more potent the medicine.
-
Where can I purchase herbs?
Most tincture and glycerite formulas and custom tea blends you will be able to purchase directly from me.
Supplements will be available to purchase through Fullscript at a discount.
I will also gladly recommend other local to you sources for purchasing bulk herbs, supplements and tinctures/glycerites.
-
What if I have a small budget for herbal medicine?
I will work within your budget in putting together a protocol for you. If you are working with a smaller budget, your protocol will include more teas and food recommendations than supplements.
